Ellen H. Greiper Honored With Leadership Award November 18, 2016
Goldberg Segalla partner Ellen H. Greiper has been honored by the Long Island Business News with its Leadership in Law Award, which is given annually to attorneys whose outstanding legal achievements and community involvement have a positive impact on Long Island. According to Long Island Business News, “Recipients of the award demonstrate outstanding achievements, involvement in their profession, support of the community, and mentoring.”
Ellen, a member of the firm’s Construction and General Liability Practice Group, is a lifelong resident of Long Island and has some three decades’ experience defending multi-party construction and construction defect cases in the state and federal courts of New York.
Over the course of her career, she has helped resolve contentious disputes involving premises liability, Labor Law, and catastrophic personal injury matters that arise from construction site accidents. In the process, Ellen has established herself in professional and legal circles as a formidable courtroom presence and a skilled negotiator who uses mediation and arbitration to help opposing parties come together to resolve complex, high-stakes conflicts.
A prolific author and frequent speaker on emerging issues and topics in construction, Ellen is a member of a number of professional organizations that cater to the industry, including the Construction Specifications Institute and the Defense Research Institute’s Construction Defect Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the New York Chapter of Professional Women in Construction, a prestigious group of both men and women that includes owners or senior management of national construction firms. Ellen stands as the only attorney on the New York Chapter’s board, and has used her position as a forum for educating PWC’s 1,000-strong membership on key legal issues impacting the industry.
Earlier this year, she was named an Achiever by the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women, an annual honor bestowed by the organization on a select group of women who demonstrate extraordinary professional accomplishments and leadership.
