Goldberg Segalla Again Recognized as a Top Firm Worldwide by Intelligent Insurer September 2014

For the second consecutive year, Goldberg Segalla was a finalist for the Best Law Firm distinction in Intelligent Insurer’s Global Awards. The continued high placement emphasizes the 13-year-old firm’s stature in the insurance and reinsurance community alongside the world’s largest and longest-established law firms serving it. Of the top-four finalists in 2013 and 2014, Goldberg Segalla was the only firm less than 95 years old and with fewer than 475 lawyers.

Intelligent Insurer’s 2014 Global Awards were announced at the Rendez-Vous in Monte Carlo. The publication noted that one respondent to the survey said the firm’s “knowledge of case law pertinent to important industry issues is unsurpassed,” and others commended its growing knowledge and capabilities in insurance-linked securities (ILS).

This high endorsement from top members of the global insurance and reinsurance community highlights the preeminence of Goldberg Segalla’s Global Insurance Services Practice Group; its cutting-edge legal and regulatory work that impacts the market internationally; and the benefits of the firm’s team-first approach to handling high-value transactions, disputes, and regulatory matters for clients around the world.

The honor came amid a rapid succession of high-profile recognitions. In June, the prominent global insurance and reinsurance publication Reactions named Goldberg Segalla Law Firm of the Year at its 2014 London Market Awards. In September, the international Lawyer Monthly named Goldberg Segalla the USA Insurance Law Firm of the Year, and partner Daniel W. Gerber earned USA Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyer of the Year.

The awards are based on scoring from a two-part survey of insurance and reinsurance professionals and executives worldwide, with more than 500 respondents taking part in each stage. Goldberg Segalla ranked fourth in the world in the 2014 survey, just one-fifth of a point below the highest score. In 2013, Goldberg Segalla was the runner-up with an average score only 0.06 below the winner.
