Deanna R. Nelson

Focusing her practice on civil litigation matters since 1994, Ms. Nelson has successfully handled mass toxic tort litigation for manufacturing and retail concerns, environmental and land use litigation for individuals and businesses, road maintenance controversies, as well as litigating catastrophic injuries and disability matters. Her practice has included successful jury trial experience and innumerable administrative and municipal hearings, adjudications and arbitrations. Ms. Nelson has a special interest in agricultural practice, environmental, and land use issues.  She is a special counsel with the firm in its Syracuse office.

Since 2001, Ms. Nelson has been actively involved as a board member of the Thompson Park Conservancy, Inc., the governing board of the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park. She has served that organization as board chair (2005-2007) and as a member of the executive committee since 2003.  Ms. Nelson taught as an adjunct professor in the paralegal program at Jefferson Community College (1998-2000), as well as serving on the JCC Paralegal Advisory Committee.  She has further held the position of trustee on the Herring College Board since 1998.
