Alexi T. Poulianos concentrates his practice on general liability defense, motor vehicle negligence, premises liability, product liability, and intentional torts. He practices in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey. Alexi has extensive experience performing investigations, interviewing witnesses, conducting trials, and negotiating settlements.
Alexi’s practice also includes insurance coverage disputes and suspect/fraudulent insurance claims. He is experienced in working with insurance carriers and analyzing insurance policies to obtain declaratory judgments in favor of his clients through litigation and arbitration.
Alexi’s legal background includes mortgage foreclosure, consumer credit transactions, collections litigation, creditor rights, and judgment enforcement. He has represented large financial institutions regarding consumer credit and commercial transactions. He has provided his clients with strategies to reduce their potential liability under state and federal law.
Alexi is a special professor of law at Hofstra University School of Law — his alma mater — where he lectures on trial skills, evidence, and professional demeanor in the court room.
During law school, Alexi was a member and contributor to the Hofstra Labor and Employment Law Journal. He was selected for membership by the Moot Court Board and the Trial Advocacy Association. He was the recipient of numerous awards, including the Judge Edward Hart Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and the Hofstra Trial Advocacy Association’s Outstanding Trial Advocacy Skills Award.
