Gregory Hanscom, an associate in the firm’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office, concentrates his practice on the areas of aviation litigation, commercial litigation, employment and labor law, libel, slander and privacy torts and professional liability. 

 In the area of professional liability, Greg has represented accounting firms and attorneys in a wide variety of legal matters.  He has defended accountants against professional negligence claims brought by former clients, purchasers or sellers involved in business transactions and other business entities.  Additionally, he has counseled accountants in developing and implementing best business practices including, but not limited to, proper engagement letters. Greg has successfully represented attorneys against legal malpractice claims pursued by former clients and other third parties.    

In the area of employment and labor law, Greg has successfully defended claims filed under federal and state discrimination statutes including, but not limited to, Title VII of The Civil Rights Act, The Pennsylvania Human Relations Act and The Age Discrimination in Employment Act.  He regularly practices before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission and other state and federal agencies tasked with enforcing discrimination statutes.

Greg earned a Bachelors Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2004 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law in 2008.  While in law school, he was a managing editor of the Villanova Sports & Entertainment Law Journal and the author of Baseball Juiced Up: Should the Increased Risk Associated With the Use of Performance-Enhancing Substances Create Tort Liability? (15 Vill. Sports & Ent. L.J. 367).  He is also a member of the Villanova Chapter of the Order of the Coif.
