Daniel W. Gerber and Jeffrey L. Kingsley Discuss Emerging Reinsurance Trends at 2011 Monte Carlo Rendez-Vous September 2011

As attendees and presenters at the 2011 Reinsurance Rendez-Vous in Monte Carlo, the premier annual conference for the global reinsurance industry, Goldberg Segalla partners Daniel W. Gerber and Jeffrey L. Kingsley were at the forefront of discussions among key decision makers in the reinsurance community.

Dan and Jeff shared their insights on a number of emerging reinsurance trends via video interviews recorded on the scene at the Monte Carlo Rendez-Vous:

  • Dan was interviewed by World Risk and Insurance News for its “WRIN.tv Monte Carlo Debrief” (free registration required to view), where he discussed potential reinsurance issues resulting from insurers waiving deductibles in connection with Hurricane Irene claims, as well as opportunities presented by the interest in new products, such as reputational harm insurance and contingent business interruption insurance.
  • Jeff reported in a podcast on discussions with both industry insiders and regulators noting that the challenges facing the reinsurance industry aren’t strictly about pricing, as all players involved look for new and creative ways to control costs in a soft market. He highlighted some of the alternative methods reinsurers and cedants are using to build stronger relationships and resolve disputes proactively.

Dan and Jeff also participated in the Inside FAC Roundtable at this year’s Rendez-Vous.
