Brian T. Stapleton Discusses Challenge to NY Gun Law on Fred Dicker Live From the State Capitol, Talk 1300 AM April 3, 2013

Goldberg Segalla partner Brian T. Stapleton discussed the recently filed federal court challenge to the New York Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement Act of 2013 (NY SAFE Act) on Fred Dicker Live From the State Capitol, the radio talk show hosted by the well-known political analyst and New York Post State Editor. Brian leads Goldberg Segalla’s Second Amendment Litigation and Gun-Related Issues practice.

In his role as lead counsel in the March 26 lawsuit for numerous plaintiffs, including the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (the state affiliate of the National Rifle Association), Brian discussed the constitutional challenges being brought against New York’s new gun law, including the core Second Amendment right to possess firearms, the equal protection clause, the dormant commerce clause, and other issues. The closely watched challenge is likely to have an impact on gun control laws throughout the country.
