"Goldberg Segalla Partner Jeff Kingsley Explains Cyber Liability/Security," Insurance Journal September 27, 2013
Jeffrey L. Kingsley, a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Global Insurance Services and Cyber Risk and Social Media Practice Groups, spoke to Insurance Journal at the Reinsurance Rendez-vous in Monte Carlo about the emerging and highly complex field of cyber liability and security.
In this interview for Insurance Journal TV, Jeff explained the difficult process of applying the long-held givens of tangible property, i.e., bricks and mortar, to the Internet, which exists only in an electronic format. He addressed recent developments such as U.S. states requiring privacy disclosures and protocols and how that alters the insurance carrier’s perspective on how to handle third-party cyber liability risks.
Insurance Journal also took this opportunity to get Jeff’s thoughts on Superstorm Sandy, for which the firm is national coverage counsel for a number of major insurers. In the interview, Jeff discussed the unforeseen regulatory oversight that came in Sandy’s wake along with the importance of being prepared for more frequent large-scale environmental catastrophes.
