Goldberg Segalla is pleased to announce the law firm has named three of its attorneys partners and promoted four associates to the level of special counsel.

Admitted to the firm’s partnership are:

• Sean J. McKinley, of the Garden City office, defends insurance carriers and self-insured employers in a wide range of workers’ compensation claims. He has extensive experience at the appellate level in workers’ compensation cases and authored the winning brief used in a landmark Court of Appeals decision that set important precedent for insurance carriers and employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims involving permanent partial disabilities.
• H. Lockwood (Chip) Miller III, of the Princeton office, focuses on the defense of product liability and toxic tort claims in single-plaintiff cases and large, consolidated mass actions. Chip has litigated multiple matters involving a host of different prescription and over-the-counter medications, vaccines and surgical devices, as well as product liability and toxic tort claims involving asbestos, cosmetics and personal care products, lead paint, chemicals, and other products.
• Andrew J. Scholz, of the White Plains office, is a trial lawyer with over 10 years of experience defending companies and individuals in state and federal trial and appellate courts. His practice focuses on mass tort, toxic tort, environmental, products liability, transportation, and complex commercial litigation. He is the editor of Goldberg Segalla’s Shale Watch blog on hydrofracking and is co-chair of the Toxic Tort Subcommittee within the American Bar Association’s Mass Torts Committee.

Promoted to special counsel are:

• Brian E. Middlebrook, of the White Plains office, represents international corporations and insurance carriers in managing all aspects of complex products liability, commercial, toxic tort, and general defense litigation, from preliminary pleadings through trial. Brian also serves as lead associate to U.S. counsel for various multinational corporations. He also focuses on helping clients minimize exposure to liability and is an editor of the firm’s Risky Business blog on avoiding litigation.
• Matthew R. Shindell, of the Philadelphia office, concentrates his practice in the defense of medical malpractice claims against physicians, medical practice groups, hospitals, community clinics, and nurses. His practice also focuses on claims involving medical device and product liability, and he has commercial and business litigation experience in debtor/creditor rights. He recently completed the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) National Trial College at Harvard Law School.
• Sean T. Stadelman, of the Philadelphia office, litigates complex product liability, commercial, and professional liability matters in federal and state courts involving single plaintiffs and large, consolidated mass actions. He works with clients in a variety of industries, including medical device manufacturers, vehicle manufacturers and trucking companies, and consumer product businesses. Sean has also represented health care providers in data privacy, regulatory, and liability matters.
