Practice Groups

Daniel Lust, an associate in the General Liability Practice Group, focuses his practice on defending personal injury and property damage allegations throughout New York State.

Dan earned his bachelor’s at Union College and went on to earn his J.D. at Fordham University College of Law. While in law school, he served as associate editor of the Fordham Environmental Law Review, president of the Fordham Sports Law Forum, and founder of the National Negotiation Competition, and he took part in multiple trial advocacy, sports arbitration, and sports negotiation competitions. Dan gained additional experience through internships with the New York State Supreme Court in Westchester County (for the Hon. Susan Cacace and the Hon. Alan Scheinkman) and a post-graduate fellowship with the Nassau County Attorney’s Office.

In addition to his general liability practice, Dan is a commentator on the evolving legal implications of social media platforms and their use in various contexts, frequently publishing and presenting on the subject. He also has significant experience in sports and media law and related issues: He served an internship focusing on MLB arbitration with the SFX Baseball Agency and another legal internship with the Excalibur Sports Group, and prior to law school he spent four years as public relations coordinator for the New York Giants.
