Lisa Conforti has wide ranging national litigation practice, regularly handling matters in California, Florida, Ohio, and Illinois. She has over 17 years of experience successfully representing large municipalities, individuals, private and public corporations, and government agencies.  Her work has spanned a wide range of legal matters including product and premises liability; employment law; construction law; maritime law; insurance coverage, defense, and bad faith issues; real estate law; and appellate work in several jurisdictions.

Throughout her career, Lisa has overseen arbitration and litigation in both state and federal courts, as well as before administrative tribunals. She has been responsible for all aspects of case handling including drafting and defense of complex first- and third-party complaints and counterclaims, insurance coverage analysis, and comprehensive discovery. Lisa has served as the liaison between government agencies and municipalities, and provided advocacy on numerous construction, breach of contract, bid protest, real estate, and municipal legislation matters. She also provided direct legal counsel to risk managers; internal auditors; engineering, building, procurement, planning, and zoning departments; human resources; and police and fire departments.

Having served in some capacity as a city attorney for over twelve years, Lisa also has knowledge of issues unique to local government law, as well as experience drafting a significant amount of municipal legislation and overseeing its execution. In 2013, Lisa managed the corporate implementation of Florida’s HB 7125 – Red Light Camera Reform Law, which clarified rules for turning right on red, lengthened ticket response from 30- to 60-days, and determined three options for drivers after a ticket is issued. In addition, she served as in-house management counsel for a class action lawsuit that resulted in a significant, positive settlement for a major Florida municipality, and also as lead attorney on the demolition of a hurricane-damaged 34-floor condominium located within city limits.

Lisa is respected for her intense motion, discovery, and pleading practice, and continues to personally conduct legal research to help guide and advocate for clients facing complex legal matters. Her client advocacy work led to her being named a Top Government Attorney by South Florida Legal Guide four years in a row.
