Paula Stefanou dedicates her practice to representing clients in a variety of workers’ compensation cases. She draws on previous experience serving as in-house counsel to one of the industry’s largest carriers, and focuses on claims related to traumatic injuries, occupational exposure, re-openers, slip and fall incidents, motor vehicle accidents, Social Security Disability Insurance, and employee/independent contractor disputes. This comprehensive background enables Paula to effectively counsel and defend her clients in all phases of workers’ compensation litigation, from intake to trial.

Paula began her legal career as a Deputy Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General of New Jersey where she gained invaluable bench trial experience. She later worked in the insurance industry for many years where she honed her negotiating skills handling high-exposure bodily injury claims and insurance coverage matters. Paula draws on her courtroom experience and insurance background to resolve cases in a cost-effective manner that best protects her clients’ interests and addresses their needs.

Paula received her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Rutgers University before earning her juris doctor from Rutgers School of Law, where she served as a teaching associate in the Legal Research and Writing Program and a contracts tutor in the Minority Student Program. Following law school, Paula served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mathias E. Rodriguez in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, in Middlesex County.
