Accounts Payable Specialist 

Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national and international practice, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as an Accounts Payable Specialist in its Buffalo office.

Job Description:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for daily processing of various work, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests. Processing includes review, data entry and follow-up to ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks. This individual must become familiar with and follow firm and client billing policies and procedures. They must be able to communicate professionally with internal staff and external clients and vendors. Candidate will also be working closely with other departments within Accounting and should possess good team building skills. They must be comfortable in a high volume, deadline driven work environment where detail and organization is a must.

 

  • Daily auditing and processing of a high volume of work, including vendor invoices, expense reports, and check requests.
  • Auditing includes review and follows up to ensure client and firm billing policies and procedures are being met.
  • Processing includes data entry and review, where a high level of accuracy and detail are required.
  • Communicate professionally and provide excellent customer service to not only internal staff but also external clients and vendors.
  • Work and collaborate closely with other departments within Accounting and possess good team building skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume work environment with weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Organizational skills are a must.

 

Requirements/Skills
  • At least two (2) years of accounts payable, and/or accounting experience preferred
  • Law Firm experience is desirable but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, forward thinking and creative
  • Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and ownership of assigned work
  • Works well in team environment
  • Computer skills including understanding of Microsoft programs
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Candidate should be motivated with the goal of becoming a long-term asset within the organization
