Goldberg Segalla is pleased to announce the addition of associate Alexis Hatten to its Workers’ Compensation Practice Group in Albany. Alexis, whose practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense, has extensive experience representing clients in all types of workers’ compensation litigation before New York State’s Workers’ Compensation Board.
Alexis’s experience includes drafting and submitting summations and appeals, memoranda, and negotiating and drafting settlement agreements. She also deposes doctors and other medical personnel regarding medical issues as they relate to workers’ compensation claims.
While earning her J.D. from Albany Law School — where she also earned several merit scholarships — Alexis was an intern in the New York State Office of the State Comptroller, where she researched pending state and federal legislation and drafted memos analyzing their impact on the office’s investment strategies and fiduciary duties to the retirement fund. She also held an internship with the Maryland State Office of the Attorney General.
