On Tuesday, December 5, Goldberg Segalla partner William H. Baaki accepted the position of First Ward Alderman of the City of Amsterdam following a unanimous vote from the city’s Common Council.
The Montgomery County Republican Committee nominated Bill to replace Ed Russo, who passed away just one day after being elected to his third term.
“If accepted, I’d be most honored and humbled to be able to join,” Bill said before Tuesday night’s Common Council meeting. “It would be an honor for someone relatively new to the area to be able to serve the city and give back to the city that’s given our family so much in a short time.”
Bill handles a variety of business and commercial litigation, construction litigation, and general liability matters, practicing out of Goldberg Segalla’s Albany office. Active in his community, Bill is also a Board Member of the Friends of Our Lady of Martyrs Shrine as well as the Catholic Lawyers Guild of the Capital District.
