Goldberg Segalla added associate Chanya K. Sainvilus to the firm’s Workers’ Compensation group in Garden City.
Chanya focuses her practice on counseling and defending employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters in a variety of industries including retail and hospitality, transportation, and health care. Prior to entering private practice, Chanya was a judicial fellow for the Hon. Doris Ling-Cohan in New York Supreme Court and an intern in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office. She volunteers her time as a secretary with the United Nations Committee at the NYC Bar Association in an effort to host events with speakers in the international community, draft reports and op-eds, and advocate with international organizations and governments.
Chanya earned both her bachelor’s degree and juris doctor from Hofstra University, where she was honored with the Gold Pro Bono Service Award for devoting over 750 hours to public service work. While attending Hofstra University, she was a student attorney in the Political Asylum Clinic, where she represented five international clients seeking political asylum status in the United States, and an intern with the Forensic Linguistics Institute’s Innocence Project.
