Karlie concentrates her practice on counseling insurers, self-insured employers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters in state courts throughout North Carolina and before the North Carolina Industrial Commission. She draws on a background including representing corporate clients in civil litigation and matters involving business law and commercial contracts. Prior to entering private practice, Karlie was as a law clerk to the Hon. Robert N. Hunter Jr. in the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Karlie earned her bachelor’s degree from Campbell University and her juris doctor from Campbell University School of Law, where she was the comment editor for the Campbell Law Review. While attending law school, she gained experience as a legal intern for Duke Energy.
