Goldberg Segalla added Kristen A. Hazlet to the firm’s Workers’ Compensation group in Syracuse.

Kristen counsels and defends insurers, employers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. She is involved in every stage of the litigation process from inception through resolution, including conducting depositions, negotiating settlements, and preparing petitions and motions. Kristen has also represented employers in discrimination claims brought under Section 120 of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Law.

An active member of the New York State Bar Association, Kristen is associate editor of Perspectives, the newsletter of the Young Lawyers Section. She is also a member of the Women in Law Section, the Torts, Insurance, and Compensation Law Section, and the Committee on Disability Rights.

Kristen earned her bachelor’s degree at Penn State University and her juris doctor at The George Washington University Law School. During law school, she held a variety of internships and clerkships, including an internship to the Hon. Nicholas Rattal in the Circuit Court of Prince George’s County, a clerkship with the Enforcement Targeting and Data Division in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and an internship with the Domestic Violence Division of the D.C. Superior Court.
