In an interview with Buffalo Business First, Jessica M. Lazarin talked about the change from representing the City of Buffalo as deputy corporation counsel to joining Goldberg Segalla as special counsel in the Construction Litigation and Counsel and Commercial Litigation and Arbitration groups.

“I imagine it may be a bit of a culture shock,” she said. “I had a really big community role at the city, and now, being in private practice, that’s not the primary designation of work.”

Jessica explained she switched to private practice to expand her experience and get back to representing individuals in their court matters. “The firm was looking for people that can build good relationships and serve the clients well.”

Jessica M. Lazarin focuses her practice on counseling clients in all phases of civil litigation and administrative proceedings. She defends clients in commercial litigation and appellate matters. Jessica draws on her experience as deputy corporation counsel for the City of Buffalo Department of Law, where she served as counsel to the City of Buffalo Common Council and various city boards. Her background also includes directing the City of Buffalo Office of New Americans. Earlier in her career, Jessica was in private practice with a local firm, and a staff attorney for the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project.
