Jonathan L. Schwartz Named Vice Chair of DRI Insurance Law Committee

October 6, 2020

Chicago-based partner Jonathan L. Schwartz, a leader in the firm’s Global Insurance Services practice and co-chair of its Cybersecurity and Data Privacy group, has been named vice chair of DRI’s Insurance Law Committee (ILC), beginning in October 2020.

“I have seen first-hand Jonathan’s dedication to the ILC, as he has served in numerous leadership roles for the committee over the years, culminating in this appointment. This is a well-deserved recognition,” said David L. Brown, co-chair of Goldberg Segalla’s Global Insurance Services practice. “The ILC is considered one of the flagship committees of DRI. It’s also one of the most important committees in the country in fostering better relationships between the insurance industry and the practicing defense bar, as well as providing top notch educational opportunities. Some of the top insurance practitioners in the country have served as chair of the ILC over the years, including Goldberg Segalla founding partner Thomas F. Segalla.”

“I started in DRI as a young associate and have adopted ‘trust DRI’ as my mantra,” Jonathan said, when asked about the appointment. “The defense bar faces unprecedented challenges today, and I am honored DRI has entrusted me to aid it in its mission. Alongside ILC Chair, Kathy Maus, we are dedicated to ensuring the ILC continues to be a flagship committee for DRI, and following the guidance of my mentor and friend, Tom Segalla, we will be persistent and creative in doing so.”
