Sarah M. Washington, a member of Goldberg Segalla’s Business and Commercial, General Liability, and Construction practices in Buffalo, has been named to the National Black Lawyers “Top 40 Under 40” list for New York.
Dedicated to honoring the nation’s best African American attorneys, the National Black Lawyers network was created to promote attorneys as industry experts, cultivate a network of top African American attorneys nationally, and help enable its members to maintain their status as leaders.
Sarah M. Washington focuses her practice on commercial litigation, business services, and defending large businesses, landowners, and contractors in premises liability and construction site personal injury litigation, including matters involving New York State Labor Law.
A rising leader in the Western New York legal and business community, Sarah is deeply involved with the Minority Bar Association of Western New York, currently serving as its president. She is also a leader in the SUNY Buffalo Law Alumni Association Gold Group, the Nichols School Alumni Board, and various other community organizations.
Sarah was honored as an Upstate New York Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2020 and one of the Buffalo Business First’s 30 Under 30 for 2019. She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science from the University at Buffalo before earning her J.D. at the University at Buffalo School of Law, where she was president of the Black Law Student Association and gained experience as law clerk to the Hon. Hugh B. Scott, Magistrate Judge for the Western District of New York, and as an intern with the Buffalo Office of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
