Experience
Christopher J. Smith dedicates his practice to representing employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in a variety of complex workers’ compensation claims. He has extensive experience managing claims filed with the Workers’ Compensation Commission and on appeal in circuit courts across Maryland. Chris also consults with clients on a proactive basis, helping them to avoid issues involving workers’ compensation law, employment law, employer liability, insurance coverage, and other related topics.
Before joining private practice, Chris was an assistant state’s attorney in the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office for seven years, serving in the Circuit Court division, the Domestic Violence Unit, and the District Court division. Most recently, he served as division chief of the Special Victims Unit.
