Kathleen M. Murphy focuses her practice on counseling and defending clients in a range of general liability claims. She has extensive experience handling real estate litigation, escalated contested foreclosure actions, affirmative suits against lenders, tax lien foreclosure actions, title litigation, and surrogate’s court matters for major loan servicers, trusts, and financial institutions. Katie is involved in all stages of the claims-handling process, from inception through trial and appeal.
As a law student, Katie served as a law clerk to United States Magistrate Judge William I. Garfinkel in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Following law school, she spent four years serving as Senior Assistant District Attorney in Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York, where she gained invaluable trial experience investigating and prosecuting felony cases involving homicide, robbery, gang-motivated violence, and firearms trafficking. Her prosecutorial work in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office landed her on Irish Echo Newspaper’s 40 Under 40 list in 2018.
