Phillip B. Jefferson
Partner

Phillip B. Jefferson is a partner in our Raleigh office. He counsels and defends employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation claims and related employment law matters. Phillip works closely with his clients, allowing him to be their strategic voice, provide situational guidance, and develop legal action plans that promote their objectives and industry needs. He is knowledgeable in all facets of the claims-handling process, including mediation, negotiation, litigation, contract drafting, and appellate writing. Phillip is a trusted counselor to clients in the manufacturing, transportation, long-term care, and retail and hospitality industries. He has achieved favorable results at all levels of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, trying complex claims before deputy commissioners and arguing claims on appeal before the full commission. In addition, Phillip regularly handles related employment law matters involving HIPAA, ERISA, and REDA disputes, subpoena compliance, and contract preparation and negotiation.
Phillip often speaks on topics dedicated to improving the claims-handling process and furthering the attorney/client relationship. He has also presented on various topics at continuing legal education (CLE) seminars for insurance carriers, employers, physicians, and fellow attorneys.
