Joseph M. Hanna Leads LCLD Community Service Day with LA’s Covenant House California June 21, 2018

Goldberg Segalla partner Joseph M. Hanna and other Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows Alumni spent the afternoon of June 21 working on behalf of Covenant House California, a nonprofit organization founded in 1998 that serves more than 2,300 homeless and trafficked young people every year in Los Angeles.

Joe, a 2014 LCLD Fellow and chair of the organization’s Fellows Alumni Outreach Committee, helped to organize the Fellows Alumni group’s annual day of service this year in LA, home to one of Goldberg Segalla’s newest offices.

Covenant House takes a “holistic approach” to caring and providing for homeless youth, including individual attention, shelter, three meals a day, medical care, educational opportunities, and career counseling. “Covenant House California does great and important work,” Joe said. “The decision to do our annual community service project here was a no-brainer.”

The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity is an organization of more than 285 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have dedicated themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. Launched in 2011, LCLD's Fellows Program works by identifying high-potential attorneys from diverse backgrounds and setting them on the path to leadership of their organizations. Besides mentoring new Fellows, the LCLD Fellows Alumni undertake regional community service projects and participate in LCLD diversity outreach efforts to universities and law schools. In addition to his role as chair of the Fellows Alumni Outreach Committee, Joe also co-chairs the New York chapter for the LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program.
