Experience
Thomas P. Chapman is a seasoned trial and appellate litigator with more than three decades of experience representing a broad range of clients in Connecticut’s state, appellate, and federal courts. A partner in Goldberg Segalla’s nationally known Civil Litigation and Trial practice, Tom defends complex and high-stakes accident claims involving serious and complicated bodily injury as well as general negligence, tort litigation, construction disputes, product liability, professional liability, civil rights, and employment matters. He has taken multiple civil jury trials to a successful verdict.
Resolute in his belief that strategic and thorough preparation are key to a positive result, Tom has consulted, retained and deposed expert witnesses for trial, ranging from specialized medical, vocational and life-care planning authorities to experts in finance and accident reconstruction. In addition to trial work, he is active in arbitrations and mediations.
Tom mentors young lawyers on trial technique and discovery, and has created and conducted training on investigation, presentation of evidence, and dram shop liability as well as ERISA and Medicare liens.
