“Doing a good job for clients is only part of the equation of being successful. If you want to be a firm leader, you need to bring in business. Further, it is important to surround yourself with mentors and sponsors who will help you with personal and business development,” says Caroline J. Berdzik, co-chair of Goldberg Segalla’s Labor and Employment Practice Group and chair of its Health Care Practice Group. “Mentors provide much-needed guidance and support, and sponsors will help advocate for you within the firm. I have been lucky to have such wonderful sponsors and mentors in my career, and I now pay it forward.”
