Global Insurance Services Practice Group co-chair Jeffrey L. Kingsley co-authored “Lloyd’s in the United States,” a chapter that highlights important aspects of the regulatory and litigation environment in the United States where Lloyd’s and its members are concerned.
Regulatory areas covered by the chapter include the regulation of excess and surplus lines; regulation of reinsurance; and anti-corruption, anti-money-laundering, and sanctions regulations. Concerning litigation involving Lloyd’s in the United States, it addresses a number of critical aspects, including differences between state and federal litigation in the decentralized U.S. judiciary system, accurately naming Lloyd’s as a party, attorney-client privilege considerations, discovery obligations, and much more.
