Joseph M. Hanna, Chair of Goldberg Segalla’s Sports and Entertainment Practice Group, recently appeared on “The Beat of Sports,” on FM 96.9 The Game in Orlando, Florida to discuss Hulk Hogan’s $100 million privacy lawsuit against gossip–site Gawker. The pro-wrestling icon is suing the media company for publishing an edited, unsolicited version of a sexual encounter between Hogan and his former best friend’s wife.
In the segment, Joe touches on a variety of issues surrounding the case, including invasion of privacy and First Amendment claims, as well as Gawker’s defense, which is that the tape is“newsworthy” and, thus, is not civilly protected.
