A Life in Outdoor Hospitality: Christine Taylor Featured on “WCM’s Connections”
Goldberg Segalla partner Christine E. Taylor was featured on “WCM’s Connections,” a video/podcast‑style interview series produced by Woodall’s Campground Magazine that highlights notable individuals across the outdoor hospitality industry.
A nationally recognized legal practitioner in the outdoor hospitality space, Christine shares the personal and professional experiences that helped shape her career, including her first-hand connection to the industry that began when she was a child and continues today through her co-ownership of a KOA in New York’s Catskill Mountains.
“I grew up in it. My parents bought their first campground when I was 9 years old,” Christine says. “Over the course of my life, they’ve owned a couple different ones, and now I have this KOA with my mother. My kids, although a lot younger than I was – it’s kind of fun now to see them go to the campground during the summer like I did as a kid.”
Although she originally went to law school with aspirations in entertainment law, Christine discovered a unique opportunity to apply her background elsewhere. As the outdoor hospitality industry has evolved, shifting from primarily family‑owned operations to a sector attracting larger players and outside investment, she recognized a growing demand for attorneys who understand both the business and the culture of campground ownership.
“As we started getting more attention and bigger players came in and came in from other industries, it caused people and agencies to pay more attention to us for better or worse,” she says. “When there’s more attention, there’s obviously more legal needs to be resolved. I think that’s what kind of created this boom, if you will, in the legal sphere for hospitality – the industry changed, so people are paying attention.”
Christine’s interview offers insight into the industry’s evolution and underscores the value of having counsel who understands the challenges and opportunities from the inside.
