Goldberg Segalla is pleased to announce the addition of Christine E. Taylor, a recognized leader in the outdoor hospitality industry. Christine will join the firm’s Albany office as a partner in its nationwide Retail and Hospitality practice group, as she specializes in representing self-insured and insured investors, owners and operators of campgrounds, RV parks, and glamping facilities in all areas of business law, both transactional and litigation matters. She also serves as legal counsel for multiple outdoor hospitality associations.

“Goldberg Segalla is incredibly fortunate to bring in an attorney of Christine’s caliber to our growing national practice and Albany office,” said Joseph M. Hanna, Goldberg Segalla’s Retail and Hospitality practice group chair, firm management committee member, and hiring partner. “She is a premiere attorney in the area of outdoor hospitality and a well-respected industry thought leader. We’re excited to bring her distinct knowledge and experience to our Retail and Hospitality team and clients.”

Christine offers deep, first-hand experience in outdoor hospitality, starting when her parents bought their first campground when she was 9 years old, franchising it as part of the Yogi Bear Jellystone Park Franchise. Over the years, she has handled guest services, facilities, recreation, and marketing for several different campgrounds owned by her family. Presently, she is part owner of a campground in Upstate New York, franchised as a KOA.

Christine is a nationally regarded speaker and author on matters of critical importance to outdoor hospitality operators on topics such as “Guests Gone Wild: Mitigating Risks and Handling Long-Term Guests,” “Keeping Yourself Protected from a Legal Storm,” “Hospitality Law in the Glamping Space,” and “Violent Events and Legal Issues.”

A well-respected advocate for identifying trends and developing best practices for the industry, Christine publishes regularly in Woodall’s Campground Magazine and Glamping Business Americas magazine and speaks at American Glamping Association Member Meet Ups, The National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds Outdoor Hospitality Conferences called the Outdoor Hospitality Symposium, The Glamping Show Americas, Campground Owners of New York Expositions, Kampgrounds of America Expos, Northeast Campground Association Tradeshows, Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association Conventions, Mid-Atlantic Campground Conferences, Camping in the Carolinas Expo, and other events.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Goldberg Segalla because, as a large firm with a nationally reaching retail and hospitality group, I can finally say ‘yes’ more than I say ‘no,’” said Taylor. “Whether it’s acquiring new properties, removing guests who have overstayed their welcome, or navigating employee issues, with Goldberg Segalla, I have the right team, organizational infrastructure, and culture to truly help every individual who reaches out.”

Christine has also served as counsel for county ethics boards and various municipalities throughout New York State, drafting legislation, handling regulatory, statutory, and constitutional compliance matters, overseeing and fielding ethics complaints, interpreting local code and state law, and handling tax certiorari proceedings. She has reviewed and responded to complaints under the NYS Division of Human Rights and the EEOC. She also has experience reviewing commercial real estate leases, building and loan agreements, preparing non-compete agreements and waivers, and has provided legal services to production companies and start-ups in the entertainment industry.

Additionally, she is a classically trained, award-winning opera singer who worked in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. She continues to advise and speak at entertainment events, including young artists at Seagle Music Festival in Schroon Lake, New York.

Christine is a graduate of Stetson University, where she received her B.M. She then earned her M.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
