Eight attorneys in the Philadelphia office of the law firm Goldberg Segalla LLP have been listed in the 2013 Pennsylvania edition of Super Lawyers, a ranking of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Special counsel Matthew R. Shindell has been named in the category of Product Liability Defense: General; partners Jonathan S. Ziss, Seth L. Laver, and Matthew S. Marrone, have been named in the category of Professional Liability: Defense; partner Sean T. Stadelman has been named in the category of Class Action/Mass Torts; and special counsel Stacy A. Tees has been named in the category of Workers’ Compensation.

Matthew R. Shindell was recognized as a 2013 Rising Star. He concentrates his practice in the defense of product liability matters involving consumer products and industrial equipment. He also defends medical malpractice claims against physicians, medical practice groups, hospitals, community clinics, and nurses.

Jonathan S. Ziss concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, aviation litigation, and professional liability. Mr. Ziss is lead chair of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance Professional Liability Committee, serves as assistant vice president of the Professional Liability Defense Federation (PLDF), and is past chair of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).

Seth L. Laver was recognized as a 2013 Rising Star. His primary practice areas include the defense of professionals and employment litigation. Mr. Laver is a member of the American Bar Association Professional Liability Committee, and is a member of the steering committee for the Defense Research Institute (DRI) Professional Liability Committee. He is chair of DRI’s 2013 Professional Liability Seminar.

Matthew S. Marrone, past chair of DRI’s Professional Liability Committee, was recognized as a 2013 Rising Star. He focuses his practice primarily on the defense of lawyers, insurance agents, and other miscellaneous professionals in litigation involving alleged errors, omissions, or malpractice. He is a member of PLUS, PLDF, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Professional Liability Committee.

Sean T. Stadelman was recognized as a 2013 Rising Star. He works with clients in a variety of industries, including medical device manufacturers, health care providers, vehicle manufacturers and trucking companies, and consumer product businesses. Mr. Stadelman is a member of CLM’s Product Liability Committee and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Subcommittee.

Stacy A. Tees focuses her practice on all aspects of workers’ compensation law. She is a member of the American Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Committee; she is membership vice chair and chair elect designee of the latter committee. Ms. Tees has held numerous positions with the Philadelphia Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section, including co-chair and secretary.
