Goldberg Segalla is pleased to announce that Jonathan S. Ziss has joined us as a partner and Seth L. Laver has joined as an associate in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Mr. Ziss and his team formerly practiced with Margolis Edelstein and led their aviation litigation practice as well as its non-medical professional liability practice.

The team brings extensive experience representing commercial airlines, municipal aviation authorities, and fixed base operators in litigation arising out of bodily injury, property damage, and breach of contract claims.  They also represent accountants, architects, attorneys, brokers, adjusters, and technology professionals, among others, in the defense of errors and omissions claims.

Jonathan Ziss joins the firm as a partner with almost 30 years of experience practicing in the area of commercial litigation, construction claims, aviation litigation and professional liability, including accountants professional liability and lawyers professional liability.

Mr. Ziss is the immediate past chair of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society’s (PLUS) Mid-Atlantic Chapter. He is a frequent presenter to accountants, architects, attorneys, bankers and fiduciaries on topics related to professional risk and claims management and has written articles on the subject of fiduciary responsibility and professional standards.

Mr. Ziss received a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College.

Seth Laver, who joins as an associate, focuses his practice within business litigation on aviation litigation, employment and labor law, and professional liability defense; including the representation of lawyers, doctors, architects and particularly accountants. Mr. Laver has gained experience in many areas of complex litigation. He has been selected for inclusion for the past two years in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers – Rising Star edition by Philadelphia Magazine.

Mr. Laver received a J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law and a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College.
