Goldberg Segalla Places Second for Intelligent Insurer Global Law Firm of the Year
Noted for efficiency and experience, just 0.06 separates Goldberg Segalla from winner
(New York, September 30, 2013) — Less than one-tenth of a point separated Goldberg Segalla from being named Intelligent Insurer’s Global Law Firm of the Year, placing the firm among the very best law firms serving the insurance and reinsurance industries worldwide.
Goldberg Segalla was the runner-up for the award given earlier this month at the Rendez-Vous de Septembre in Monte Carlo, the premier global conference for the insurance and reinsurance industries. Scoring for the award came from Intelligent Insurer’s six-month poll of more than 1,100 insurance and reinsurance executives around the world, which evaluated firms for their quality of service and accomplishments in 2013 through interviews and questionnaires. Goldberg Segalla’s average score was only 0.06 below the winner. The firm finished ahead of Norton Rose Fulbright, Mayer Brown, and Locke Lord, who were the other finalists.
In publishing the award results, Intelligent Insurer provided client comments about Goldberg Segalla that included: “They employ very clever and responsive people, which gives them a great depth of knowledge in the market” and “They are committed to the reinsurance industry and are very active in training and dissemination of insurance information.”
“We congratulate Clyde & Co on winning this prestigious award,” said Richard J. Cohen, Managing Partner of Goldberg Segalla. “But achieving the number-two spot as a firm that is only 12 years old, and being placed there based on the opinions and feedback from industry leaders, is in itself incredibly rewarding. The competition was very strong.”
In August, the firm received prominent ranking in Intelligent Insurer’s 2013 Legal Elite, which saw Goldberg Segalla rank Highly Commended in the US–Overall Leaders category. Only two other firms placed higher than Goldberg Segalla in the US–Overall Leaders ranking.
