Goldberg Segalla added Robert H. McLean to the firm’s Global Insurance Services practice group in Orlando.

An accomplished litigator and insurance industry advocate, Rob has spent nearly 30 years helping insurance carriers and their insureds navigate complex coverage disputes and litigation in Florida’s trial and appellate courts. A leader in the representation of insurers in commercial general liability matters – including construction defect claims – Rob combines coverage knowledge with extensive courtroom experience. He is also highly regarded for defending individuals, businesses and government entities in a broad range of matters involving personal injury, premises liability, employment discrimination, civil rights, construction and commercial disputes.

Rob brings a distinct perspective shaped by experience in the insurance industry, private practice, and the Florida court system. Before earning his law degree, he worked for Florida-based insurance carriers, helping develop insurance programs, update underwriting guidelines in response to regulatory requirements, and training as a claims supervisor for a property and casualty insurer. He also served as both a Staff Attorney and Senior Staff Attorney within Florida’s judiciary, gaining firsthand insight into trial and appellate decision making.

Rob earned a B.A. from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, an M.A. from the University of North Florida, and his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law.
