Goldberg Segalla added William J. Knox to the firm’s Real Estate Litigation and Title Disputes group in Manhattan.
William is a commercial litigator focused on advising and representing mortgage servicers and financial institutions in a variety of real estate and title matters. Throughout more than 16 years of practice, William has handled an extensive number of contested forward mortgage and reverse mortgage foreclosures, with a special focus on reverse mortgages over the past seven years. He manages contested foreclosure actions where servicers/lenders were joined as defendants in causes of action premised on fraud, lack of mental capacity, quieting title based on lapse of the statute of limitations, and more. Working collaboratively with retained title counsel, William has played a key role in resolving escalated title claims such as lien priority disputes, forgery claims, allegations concerning lack of mental capacity to enter into a mortgage transaction, and fraud at origination.
William earned his B.A. from Syracuse University and his J.D. from the Quinnipiac University School of Law.
