Neil Goldberg is often described by clients, colleagues and legal industry leaders across the country as a true professional – deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards for top quality legal defense and client service. Today marks Neil Goldberg’s 50th year practicing law.
A well-established and highly respected litigator when he co-founded Goldberg Segalla in 2001, Neil long championed the firm’s team-oriented, collaborative culture, and established excellence in client satisfaction as a guiding principle of the firm, leading to client relationships that have spanned the decades.
Having litigated and tried some of the most complex and prominent cases in the country, Neil is nationally known for his defense of product liability, pharmaceutical, medical device, trucking, toxic tort, and other catastrophic injury cases for numerous New York Stock Exchange companies. His exceptional work as lead trial counsel in the Colgan Flight 3407 plane crash litigation – one of only a few trials involving a commercial airline disaster in the U.S. in the past 30 years – earned Neil the honor of Trial Lawyer of the Year from the Defense Trial Lawyers Association of Western New York.
Enhancing the quality of the defense bar has always been important to Neil. He has contributed time and talent as an industry leader through numerous roles including as past president of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), past chair of the Products Liability Committees of both the DRI and New York State Bar Association, and past president and chairman of the board of Lawyers for Civil Justice. Neil is also a highly accomplished author and editor of several books on the defense of complex personal injury cases, as well as a sought after speaker, presenter and expert on litigation and trial strategies.
