Joseph Hanna Partnership with Phil Mickelson for Bunkers in Baghdad featured in the Buffalo News
Goldberg Segalla partner Joseph Hanna, founder of Bunkers in Baghdad, partnered with his favorite golfer, six-time major winner Phil Mickelson, to further their shared missions of supporting our troops through a love of golf. Bunkers in Baghdad is a non-for-profit that collects and sends new and used golf balls, clubs, and equipment to our troops around the world, providing them with a welcome form of stress relief, recreation, and a slice of home. Mickelson’s father was a fighter jet pilot and Mickelson and his family have a long history of supporting military related causes.
The collaboration kicked off with a Bunkers Buddies event in Houston, where military families participated in golf clinics with Mickelson’s LIV Golf team, the HyFlyers GC, and children crafted cards and decorated golf balls to send with requested golf equipment to deployed troops and veterans.
Joe shared this recent experience with the Buffalo News, “For the last 15 years, we, from afar, have admired Phil and Amy Mickelson for all they have done for our military members and troops around the globe,” said Joe. “And here we are today as partners. We’re now working with a generational golfer, and certainly someone I have appreciated for many years.”
Joe continued “As long as we keep getting requests from our troops and our veterans, we’ll keep going. It’s the least we can do for all that they do for us.”
Bunkers in Baghdad has now been active for over 15 years and has donated over 15 million golf balls, 1.5 million golf clubs, and other golf equipment to military members across 80 countries.
