“I think this is the landmark decision,” said Joseph M. Hanna, Chair of Goldberg Segalla’s Sports and Entertainment Practice Group, commenting on the recent U.S. District Court decision that Division I student-athletes have the right to be compensated when revenue is generated for use of their names, images and likenesses. “Since Title IX and its implementation, this is one of the biggest and most important decisions that affect amateur sports in our country.”
