Karen Saab-Dominguez, an associate in Goldberg Segalla’s Garden City office, was named to Lawyers of Color’s Second Annual Hot List for the Eastern Region, which recognizes outstanding early- to mid-career minority attorneys working as law firm associates and partners, in-house counsel, or government attorneys. This year’s Eastern Region honorees were profiled in the Lawyers of Color July issue and were celebrated at a reception in New York City.

Ms. Saab-Dominguez is a member of Goldberg Segalla’s General Liability Practice Group, where she handles litigation involving premises liability, negligent security, products liability, labor law, and transportation matters for many of the firm’s high-profile clients, including one of the world’s largest beverage manufacturers. Earlier in her career, Ms. Saab-Dominguez served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York, where she prosecuted domestic violence, child abuse, and sex crimes cases.

Goldberg Segalla has received numerous awards recognizing its leadership in promoting diversity in the legal profession and the wider business community. The firm has received a George B. Vashon Innovator Award from the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, a Diversity Trailblazer Award from the New York State Bar Association, a Community Service Award from the Defense Research Institute, and a Diversity Excellence Award from the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association.

Honorees to the Lawyers of Color Hot List 2014 were chosen through a two-pronged process involving review by a selection committee and nominations from mentors, peers and colleagues. Lawyers of Color was initially founded as a media company that now also produces publications for lawyers of South Asian American, Pacific Asian American, Hispanic, and Native American heritage. With a core readership of 35,000 and nearly 200,000 unique blog visitors, Lawyers of Color has the largest social media presence of any minority legal organization.
