Larry D. Mason Quoted in “4 Ways Conn. Justices Set Precedent On Asbestos Coverage,” Law360

Larry D. Mason, a partner in the firm’s Global Insurance Services and Environmental Law groups, was quoted in an article for Law360 discussing asbestos-related claims involving a massive coverage dispute between Vanderbilt Minerals LLC and 30 of its insurers.

In “4 Ways Conn. Justices Set Precedent On Asbestos Coverage,” Larry talks about the court’s ruling of the occupational disease exclusions in Vanderbilt’s policies to prevent coverage for asbestos-related claims.

“The court thankfully has followed the long history of other courts who have followed rules of contract construction and given policy language intent without torturing that language outside of its plain wording,” Larry said. “This ruling has significant implications, because this issue had never been presented before this case.”
