March 29, 2022

In an interview with Buffalo Business First, Larry E. Waters Jr., a member of Goldberg Segalla’s Retail and Hospitality and Civil Litigation and Trial groups, discussed his work with the Minority Bar Association of Western New York and becoming president of the association in 2022. Larry told Buffalo Business First the Minority Bar Association of Western New York was one of the first organizations he joined when he moved to Western New York and how it played a vital role in his choice to stay in Buffalo upon his graduation from the University of Buffalo School of Law.

Larry said, “I’ve been a board member for the Minority Bar Association for the last couple years. It has been a role that’s important to me.” He went on to say, “It’s a tremendous honor to give back and provide some of the same types of services that were provided to me as a law student.”

On January 1, 2022 Larry started his role as president of the organization and he stated that, “I’d like to increase the participation of attorneys of color in other community groups or nonprofit organizations.” He went on to say, “It’s important for attorneys to serve on boards and give back to the community, and we want to increase our visibility with those organizations.”
