Goldberg Segalla partner Michael A. Hamilton has been named a Fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel (ACCEC), an exclusive invitation-only group of the top insurance attorneys in North America.

ACCEC seeks to improve the practice of insurance law, educate all sectors involved in insurance disputes, and develop best practices in policy formation and claims handling. Formed in 2012 — with Goldberg Segalla’s Thomas F. Segalla as its founding president — ACCEC focuses on the creative, ethical, and efficient adjudication of disputes between policyholders and insurers over coverage as well as extracontractual damages.

Mike’s induction into ACCEC makes him the fourth Goldberg Segalla attorney to become a member of the prestigious organization, which is comprised of fewer than 250 attorneys in the U.S. and Canada. Along with Tom, Mike joins Managing Partner Richard J. Cohen and partner Michael T. Glascott — all members of the firm’s Global Insurance Services Practice Group — within ACCEC.

Mike has more than two decades’ experience handling sophisticated and high-exposure insurance coverage claims and litigation for major insurers throughout the United States. His practice focuses on high-exposure coverage claims and litigation, with an emphasis on environmental, professional liability, construction defect, business torts/advertising injury, data privacy and breaches, and intellectual property claims, among others. A frequent speaker and author on insurance litigation and associated emerging issues, Mike is currently serving a two-year term as Chair of the Insurance and Reinsurance Committee of the International Association of Defense Counsel.
