Goldberg Segalla is proud to announce that partner Peter Biging has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Professional Liability Defense Federation Distinguished Service Award, a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional leadership, service, and dedication to the professional liability defense community.
Presented annually, the Distinguished Service Award recognizes a PLDF member whose contributions have made a meaningful impact on both the organization and the profession. Recipients are nominated by their peers and selected based on their demonstrated commitment to advancing PLDF’s mission and strengthening the professional liability defense community through sustained volunteer service and leadership.
Throughout his career, Peter has distinguished himself as a leader both within the legal profession and among organizations dedicated to professional liability defense. His longstanding involvement with PLDF reflects a deep commitment to fostering collaboration, supporting fellow practitioners, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the organization.
Peter will be formally honored during the 2026 PLDF Annual Meeting in Boston on September 24, where he will receive the Distinguished Service Award alongside other award recipients.

Peter J. Biging is an accomplished trial and appellate attorney with more than 30 years of experience as a litigator in the state and federal courts of New York. As co-chair of the firm’s nationwide Management and Professional Liability practice group, Peter counsels and defends directors and officers against claims alleging fraud, negligence, and breach of fiduciary duties, and a variety of professionals against claims based on alleged errors and omissions (E&O) in the performance of their professional services.
