Peter J. Biging, partner and co-chair of Goldberg Segalla’s Management and Professional Liability practice group, hosts the fifth episode of “The Precipice,” a podcast series presented by the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS).

The series highlights important topics in management and professional liability. Each episode features conversations with experts on the subject, including professional liability claims and underwriting executives, as well as ethicists and leading lawyers involved in the prosecution and defense of management and professional liability claims.

The guests for this episode include Ari Magedoff, Senior Vice President, Financial Lines Claims at Westfield Specialty Insurance, Eric Marler, Head of Claims at Counterpart Inc., and Christopher Vlasich, Senior Vice President of Claims at Trisura Group.

As nuclear verdicts become an ever greater concern generally, questions abound regarding what are the critical factors driving nuclear verdicts, whether and, if so, to what extent nuclear verdicts should be viewed as a serious management and professional liability concern, what the management and professional liability defense industry may be doing to contribute to the problem, and what steps can be taken to limit the risks of nuclear verdicts in the management and professional liability space. Episode 5 offers a frank and honest discussion among several leading management and professional liability claims executives about these issues and concerns.
