Sarah J. Delaney, a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Global Insurance Services Practice Group, was interviewed by Crain’s New York for an article discussing how state health exchanges, created under the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”), may endanger millions in commissions of health insurance brokers.

Brokers have played a big role in helping small businesses buy health insurance, but some fear they may find themselves irrelevant if state-run health exchanges, set to be online by January 2014, make it easier and cheaper for employees to purchase insurance on their own.

According to Sarah, “ To continue to thrive, brokers need to create value-added services. … Service is going to be the way forward.”
