Joseph M. Hanna, chair of the firm’s Sports and Entertainment and Retail and Hospitality practices, shares valuable insight into his professional and personal lives in a member spotlight by the New York State Bar Association. In “Seven Questions and a Closing Argument,” Joe discusses his hero in the legal world (spoiler: it’s Goldberg Segalla’s own Christopher J. Belter), the upbringing that inspired him to pursue a career in law, his favorite book and musician, and more.

A lifetime fellow of the organization, Joe has assisted NYSBA in various capacities throughout his career as a lawyer. He was awarded its Diversity Trailblazer Award in 2012 as well as its Outstanding Young Lawyer Award in 2010, and currently serves on the NYSBA Leadership Development Committee. “NYSBA has served as the best possible vehicle for me to advance and enhance my leadership skills throughout the last 15 years,” he writes in the spotlight.

“It has given me a platform to work on diversity initiatives, professional development opportunities for young lawyers, and resources in the realm of sports and entertainment law. The opportunities for personal and professional growth are unlimited.”
