Experience
Alexis Harris focuses her practice on defending toxic tort and environmental litigation on behalf of clients including product manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and property owners. She draws on experience handling commercial litigation and insurance defense matters in civil court, federal court, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, focusing on construction, premises, and product liability. Alexis is engaged in all stages of litigation, developing defense strategies, drafting pleadings and motions, crafting settlement proposals, taking and defending depositions, and handling court proceedings.
Before joining private practice, Alexis worked as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Alberto Rivas of the Middlesex Superior Court, Civil Division, where she analyzed and drafted orders for 80 to 100 motions during each two-week cycle, and authored formal memorandums and judicial opinions. While attending law school, Alexis gained experience through a number of internships and clerkships, including serving as a judicial intern for the Hon. Michael Kaplan of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
