Experience
An accomplished and results-driven litigator, Christopher S. Arnold has focused his practice on mass tort, toxic tort, and environmental law for close to twenty-five years. He has extensive experience defending clients against asbestos cases in courts throughout West Virginia and Pennsylvania. More recently, his practice focused heavily in the emerging field of talcum powder litigation. Here, Chris represented a Fortune 50 company, handling discovery, pretrial development and trial support, which resulted in a defense verdict in January 2025. He also served as liaison counsel in this litigation, taking on lead counsel obligations for a number of talcum powder cases pending in Pennsylvania. Chris has advocated for a diverse range of clients throughout his career – from major manufacturers, distributors and premises owners to small businesses and individuals – providing diligent and effective legal representation.
In addition to his practice in toxic tort litigation, Chris has experience in cases involving catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death. He has handled a host of issues in the oil and gas field of law. He also successfully defended a mortgage provider by securing a directed verdict at trial in a matter involving employment and origination disputes. In addition to his practical experience, Chris served for over eight years as the partner in charge of a Pittsburgh satellite office for a mid-sized law firm based out of Philadelphia.
Beyond the courtroom, Chris helped enhance the electronic discovery process for attorneys nationwide, collaborating with a technology company to integrate legal, linguistic, and technological expertise. His commitment to professional service is reflected in Chris’ leadership within the Kanawha County Bar Association, where he served for five years various roles, culminating in a term as President.
