Experience
Emilio F. Grillo is a nationally recognized trial attorney with more than two decades of litigation experience in personal injury, professional liability, products liability, criminal law, construction, labor law, transportation law, and other commercial disputes. He is Goldberg Segalla’s senior litigation partner for Metro New York and co-chair of its Civil Litigation and Trial practice group. Emilio’s clients have included regional and national construction and real estate holding companies, product manufacturers, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment companies, as well as national and international retailers. He also has extensive experience in trucking and transportation law, having represented motor carrier companies in a variety of litigation.
Emilio’s experience, skills, and service were recognized by two highly respected organizations. He was selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA), an invitation-only collegial network of lawyers who represent clients across North America and around the world. This honor is bestowed upon less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. In addition, Emilio was made a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only organization of experienced trial attorneys who exhibit the virtues of civility, integrity, and professionalism.
Emilio spent six years as an Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, where he was assigned to the Criminal Court, Grand Jury, Investigations, Appeals, Felony Trial and Homicide Bureaus. As senior trial attorney, Emilio tried over 30 felony cases to verdict, including seven murder trials.
